
Traditional Japanese razors are produced by forging two kind of steels together: the Hagane and the Jigane.
The Hagane is the hard steel which forms the cutting edge.
The Jigane is the mild steel which supports the Hagane, and provides ease of sharpening.
The maker is Sanjo Seisakujo a.k.a. Sanjo Factory, wich was established by Mr. Kosuke Iwasaki in 1946. He was a scholar on Japanese sword and made a great contribution to Sanjo hardware industry.
The blade of the razor is half semi-polished and half grey finished resulting from the forging process. The handle is vine rolled and the razor is delivered in its original wooden box.
